Jeni founded Kakuli Safaris in 2012 alongside her husband, Dave, turning their shared passion for wildlife and conservation into a thriving safari business. For six wonderful years, they welcomed thousands of international guests to the Addo Elephant National Park, creating unforgettable memories and sharing the magic of Africa's wildlife with visitors from around the world.

In December 2018, Jeni's life changed forever when Dave passed away suddenly. Determined to continue their dream, she carried on with the business, supported by an additional guide as she navigated her grief. Then, when the Covid-19 pandemic brought tourism to a standstill, she faced the heartbreaking decision to close Kakuli Safaris and pursue full-time employment.

Although she gained valuable experience working in lodges, Jeni never lost her desire to guide guests through the wilderness she loves so deeply. Drawn back to her true calling, she has returned to running her own safari business, eager to once again share her knowledge, passion, and love for nature.

The legacy of Kakuli Safaris lives on through its outstanding TripAdvisor reviews and a treasured guest book filled with pages of heartfelt handwritten messages from visitors whose lives were touched by their safari experiences. Jeni keeps this book close to her heart—a reminder of where she has come from, the challenges she has overcome, and the joy she finds in introducing guests to the remarkable wildlife and landscapes of the Addo Elephant National Park.

Jeni's passion for learning is matched only by her passion for sharing the wonders of the natural world. She is currently furthering her studies through FGASA, continually expanding her knowledge and skills to ensure she provides every guest with the highest standard of guiding.

Jeni firmly believes that knowledge is the key to creating truly exceptional safari experiences, allowing guests to leave with a deeper understanding, appreciation, and connection to the wildlife and landscapes they encounter.
